Just picked up a Wilson Combat Tactical Recon in 7mm-08. Anyone know of any good 7-08 practice ammo? I don't mind shooting good factory stuff, just wondering if less expensive options are available.

The problem with less expensive is you will usually pay in the accuracy depart. Every gun has different nuances. Your best bet is to buy several different lower priced factory loads and see if your rifle will shoot any of them, and if not, buy the premium stuff, or call Chad.

I'll carry it with premium ammo. This less expensive is just for practice, familiarizing myself with the rifle, etc. Thanks for your input unclebubba. Rest assured when I sight it in, it will be with whatever premium ammo it likes best.

Try PPU or Hornady Whitetail, maybe. Those will likely be your cheapest options and should shoot well enough.

I think chad was talking about making some bulk 7-08. Or maybe I made that up?

If you think that you may reload in the future, buy and practice with whatever brass you want to load, IE, Remington, Winchester, Hornady, etc.

I can certainly do 7-08. I can run some bulk 7-08 ammo on my 308 press, with new Hornady brass, Federal 210M primer, a Hornady bullet, or similar bullet with Hornady pricing. PM replied to.
