But only took me a couple hours.

Accountant had it set and done in early March. They got their money from me and it was not near what last year was Waste it accordingly lol

Why not just file with your credit card? It was $10 extra. I opted for the medium package, which cost me $100 or so, plus the $10 credit card fee (we pay our card balance off every month, so it didn’t bother me).

It’s super easy and I feel confident with TurboTax. I’m glad you had a good first experience.

Same. And non-traded REIT which sometimes issues updated documents after the initial round. Accountant always waits until last minute because of those two factors.

Haven't paid in years but always used regular check and snail mail.

Statistics show you have a much greater chance of an audit filing early or on time. If you send a check for what you will owe with the extension you pay No penalty for filing the extension. Also gives time for late K1s etc. to arrive.

Filed on Friday, there was a little delay in getting some paperwork from our bank, but it wouldn't have filed earlier because we owed.

I always wait until the last minute to pay, but this year it looks as though we're getting some money back. Dern it foiled again....

My CPA is filing ours tomorrow. And then I do each of my 3 son's 1041s on my own, which I worked on tonight. I'm pretty pissed about the change to itemized deductions. In Texas where we have absurd property taxes, it's pretty common to have property taxes in excess of the new max of $10k. And if you live in one of the cities/aresa where property values have really spiked in the last 5 years, it's not that uncommon to be WAY above that threshold. That being said, I'm $3500 worse off this year with Trump's tax "cuts". And, most of the people that I work with and many of my friends and neighbors are in the same boat.

I've read enough about it recently to know that those who make between 100-250k across the country have really been screwed by the new tax laws. The cap on state and local tax deductions disproportionately impacted states with high taxes by limiting the amount residents used to be able to deduct from their federal filings. So you get F'd when the county jacks your home appraisal up to record levels and then you can't get credit for those property taxes come federal tax time. I'm surprised we don't have someone in Texas lobbying on our behalf.

Agree. And my new appraisal came in the mail yesterday. Value up 10% so taxes went up and I can't deduct any increase anymore.. at least I can sort of afford it but I make less and less each year the way the system is setup. Nor sure how kids can afford real estate in the future.

Extensions are a way of life here.

Accountant efiled and I mailed 4 checks to 3 out of state IRS addresses with stupid sums written on them. Complained to a friend and he had no sympathy. His return is six hundred pages long, cost eight thou to produce and doesn't get filed until October. I sat down and shut up.

Just efiled mine. Anybody giving out 0 percent loans

Did mine the second week of February. Had my refund direct deposited in the bank a week later.

Mailed paper this morning.
