Glad you asked. I grew up in eastern Arkansas. I was born at home. I picked cotton. I plowed mules. Never heard of barbecue brisket until I moved to Texas. We always used a vinegar, sugar, based homemade sauce. I've found that you can take any of the ones mentioned above, add pan dripping, sugar, white vinegar, and las but not least cayenne pepper. You come up with a plate similar to this.

I love this sauce. Discovered it 7 years ago. Central Market carries it.

Head Country for most things here also. I also use HEB brand Texas Specialty BBQ sauce on beef and steaks. I got a bottle for free and was very surprised how good it is. It has a nice black pepper kick.

My wife has been on a Sweet Baby Rays kick lately, pretty good. Head Country or Red Mud are also pretty good ...

Im quite fond of my grandmas home made, but the recipe is so common that it may as well be store bought.

Other than that im not big on sauce, I really like the luling city market sauce. If im buying at the store its usually sweet baby rays or whatever is on sale.

HEB has had a Korean bbq sauce and while it isn't really bbq sauce I like it. Good on wings.
