At the end of the day, you're responsable for your self-esteem but at what point do you look to your wife for reassurance?

My wife helps me to be a better man and father.

My self esteem, like my faith, is an internal struggle.

1st wife told her folks that I'd "destroyed her self-esteem" (as I was begging for us to go to counseling). She then kicked me to the curb and married a guy she'd met at work.
After time, I forgave her for what she put our girls through. And I found a much better woman.

I may be looking at this question totally wrong but my wife is my other half , what builds her and my esteem is intertwined , I hope between both of us. I know when I do or say something for her and it helps my soul/well being/esteem what ever you want to call it. And when she will flat [censored] take your head off for saying or doing something detrimental to me , helps that process also. If you are a team you have to help and watch out for each other. I may be overthinking the question , but I am pretty happy with who I am & who I am with. That is all

I truly feel sorry for a lot of you guys that feel this way.

To be clear I work with my wife 24/7 so I have to bring her up to my level. If something is wrong we fix it. if something is hurting we get that taken care of asap. I am not gods gift to man by any means either lol. She is alot harder on her self than I would ever be and I just really do not care what anyone thinks and so far it works. She is my special woman and she has our babies. I wouldn't [censored] with her.

I married an angel thirty eight years ago.
To me, self esteem comes from within.

However, there's no telling WHERE I'd be today without her.

I tend to be a bit overconfident and cocky at times. My wife helps keep me grounded. If she constantly fluffed up my self esteem, I'd be a tad unsufferable.
