Daybreak brought the gobbles of the love struck Toms. Strong 40 mph winds out of the north couldn’t slow the annual ritual of the turkey strut. Gobbling, strutting, looking, walking 10 ft and doing it all over again, brought a really nice Tom into range. My prayer that I always pray, “ Lord you put him here, please don’t let me mess it up”. Taking dead aim, and my shot making its mark. How awesome is that. Well I waited about 5 minutes and hit my call one time. Almost immediately Tom number two spotted Tom number one and had to check him out. That was his fatal mistake and my good fortune. Both had 10 in beards. One had four beards. Feeling turkey blessed.
