Lone hen showed up on the East Texas place I am hunting. While hog hunting this week my hunting partner there texted me from another stand that he had a Turkey at his feeder for the last three hours. I immediately pulled the sd card in my plotwatcher and sure enough she had been visiting my feeder too. This is the first Turkey anyone has ever seen on this small tract of land we hunt between Henderson and Carthage.

Looking for suitable nesting habitat. I'd venture to guess that there are more somewhere nearby. Be there at daylight and do some listening for gobbling.

Birds are spotty in that county. Seen a few on our place along the Sabine River. Have heard hens and visually seen Toms. They just haven't taken off on our place. We usually see a single bird about once every 3 or 4 years. Now, there are areas that hold good numbers of birds. Me and my brother have both taken Toms in these areas.
