Just wanted to give a shout out to these guys and gals. They did my axis and black buck processing. Summer sausage with cheese was outstanding, The ground meat was done very good. Bacon wrapped tenderloins perfect.

They sent my Blackbuck hide for tanning , already got it back, great job and srvice.

I wish their shooting range was still there realmad

It hasn't been called Rick's Outpost for over two years. New owner. Now it's just the Outpost. I've had meat and mounts done there for over seven years. Meat processing is still fine as always. The current owner insists the hides be sent to a tannery in Michigan and not the place down the road in Denton. Used to get mounts back in seven months when they used Denton. Fourteen months for Michigan. The two axis we had mounted had one ear cropped each and the cape looked sun bleached. Here are a few pics. The back hide on the left I had processed at Denton Tannery. On the right is the mount with the cape done in Michigan. You can see the vibrant color of the back hide and the bleached color on the mount. This is from the tannery. The primary taxidermist is Joyce. She is a true artist at what she does. I love this lady. The owner needs to get over himself and put his customers first and go back to using Denton Tannery. Quicker and better job on the capes and hides. [Linked Image]

Yes, I miss the shooting range. Used to go there twice a month. Best range in North Teas. Took the last CHL class they offered before they shut down. Also, their last day of being open, I took every rifle and handgun I owned and fired them all. Miss that range.

Rick sold a couple of years back to a guy named Dan I believe. Dan may have worked for Rick. Dropped off a deer there last week and Rick’s son now owns it. I hadn’t been by in a couple of years and did not realize the change of hands. Last time I saw Rick was maybe 2015 or 2016 before he decided to sell.

The taxidermy work they had displayed there last week was top notch. I miss the range as well. Another victim of surburbia.
