Last yr, sitting in my quadpod and hearing the rush of wind over the top of wings in the dark and then the loud screech of a barn owl as it passes about 8-10ft over top of you...............drawes needed attention.....  Your post reminded me of something that happened to me hunting coyotes a few years ago. It was about 11:00pm, and I was sitting on a five gallon bucket, in the middle of a large field. I had just set up, so I started calling with a little hand held squeaker just in case the 'yotes happened to be close. After about 5 minutes of squeaking I heard something fly past the top of my head. I ducked, looked around, and caught a glimpse of an owl flying past me. He was hoping for an easy dinner, and I ruined it for him!

I had my cross hairs on a hog several weeks ago. I was zoomed in too much and looked up to adjust the magnification. Damn elbow knocked my binoculars down. Made a thump. Hog looked up briefly and took off running. That's the worse sound I've heard to this day.

when you see a cohunter has a large pig on the back of his atv and he says "hes a biggun"..kidding..lol

Had a pig 20 yards from the stand at the edge of a creek treeline I had to get up to shoot down at the pig. When I get up, I kick over an empty can someone else left in the bottom of the blind. Never seen a big pig disappear so fast.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
