Can someone please explain the difference in combat sights vs target sights on a handgun? In idiot terms

Hey Bruce,
Target sights are usually fully adjustable and designed for the most precise alignment on the target range.
"Combat" sights are usually fixed, very rugged, possibly with luminous inserts for low-light conditions. Designed more for quick acquisition than precision (although a good set will yield surprisingly good groups).
