I am looking for recommendations on gemsbok and eland hunts in TEXAS (or lower 48). I know that gemsbok and eland are MUCH cheaper in Africa and that "every hunter should see Africa at least once". Sadly I can NOT take the time away from my business to do an African hunt. I still very much would like to take one of these great animals. I am leaning towards gemsbok. I wanted to see if there was either anyone on here that offers these animals or if anyone has been on ranches and seen them? Prices extra fees ect. Thank you for the time.

The Continental Ranch in Sanderson. Just Google them. I just got off a deer lease in one of their pastures that was thick with Gemsbok. Honestly, I got tired of seeing them.

I have been to Africa several times and have not shot an eland there because I want the meat. I got an offrange gemsbok several years ago in New Mexico with Mulie Mike. Once again I was glad I did it here since I wanted the meat. I am curious to see what you turn up for eland. Happy hunting.

I have harvested 3 oryx (gemsbok) free range in New Mexico. I hunted with Ironsight outfitting. They have a private ranch that boarders the misle range. He has taken the most free range oryx of any outfitter in NM, I think it’s like 290 animals. Tags are over the counter and good for the whole month you buy them. You won’t find a harder working outfitter and the meat from these animals is top notch. I know it’s not high fence but what an awesome hunt.

Gemsbok is one of my favorite animals.
The going rate stateside seems to have gone down a bit, one ranch I outfitted for were offering them for $6500. They are beautiful creatures.
I would look at that west Texas place that seems like it would be a great hunt
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
