Not sure how they can compete a few miles from Hutchins but, Tender Smokehouse is opening soon in the vacant 3-Stacks BBQ building. Behind Hooters on 4226 Preston.

Their original location is a small store in Celina. Its owned my Ex MLB player Tory Holt. We'll see

Been to the one in Celina twice.. Wasnt impressed... getting too big too fast is not a good business model... That location in Frisco is a tough one and extremely large.. The rent is out of this world on that building...Like you said, with Hutchins down the road thats a tough market to compete with...Its owned by Tori Hunter......

Jinxed location. Will be interesting to see if they can make a go of it. I've been to the one in Celina and it was OK. The Frisco Hutchin's is not as good as McKinney. I drive past the Frisco location to go to McKinney.

Its interesting because the first BBQ place that was there was doing great.. I spoke with the owners one day and they were going to make the change to table service, rather than the line service, because people were complaining about waiting in line..Remember that was 10 years ago when lines at BBQ places were almost unheard of.. Well it was the death of them..[censored] service came and unreliable kitchen help lead to their down fall...along with the rent on that building that is almost unrealistic...

That's on them also not to see sit down service is working out and for them to change it back, but if it wasn't meant to be it wasn't meant to be.

It will be interesting for sure

The location is different and set back, we will see how the number two Yelp restaurant in the nation fairs. Their customer service in celina is very good.
The bbq is not huntchin ps good but overall it is very good

I wish them luck

I eat a ton of bbq and I am one of the few who prefer Tender over Hutchins. I'm not saying Hutchins is bad, because I enjoy it and I'm sure as hell am not saying Tender is worth the Yelp Hype because it's not, but I think this location will survive. There are a lot of folks who just don't like the central texas type bbq that has taken over and Tender is a little more mild with the smoke and pepper.

.. That yelp rating is because they pay to advertise on there...The more money you pay the higher up the list you go....

They spent 60k to remodel the serving area to sit down so going back wasnt really a option....Most people dont realize the struggle to hire and keep good wait staff... They are few and far between....

I don't think I've ever been to a BBQ joint, in Texas, that had table service.

It's really rare, I live by one, but BBQ is only half the menu, they also offer burgers, CFS, salads etc.
