Little early for this years cuttings and many will be out of last years for out of state.

I used to buy full loads out of the Rio Grande Valley years ago. They cut earlier than most and it was high quality hay. Zero waste when I bought it and very leafy. I also bought full loads out of the Trans Pecos...not the best quality but at a good price. No contacts on either location though.
I bought from Jim Yanta out of Runge Texas till about 2010. He was a hay broker..not sure if he is even in business anymore. I do not have his cell phone number anymore.
Muennink's out of Hondo used to go to New Mexico and buy full loads then sell to feed stores/ranches in the Hondo area. They were located on Hwy 90 just east of Hondo.
May check on-line with Livestock Weekly ...scroll down to "feed" page.

I think Muenninks number is 830-426-9848.I haven't bought any from him in a couple of years. I now usually get it from Lackeys in Center Point.

Specific mainly to horses, deer not so much. Just about every alfalfa farmer watches it pretty closely and hit it with Servin or Malathoin week prior to harvest.

If you are overly worried inspect before coming off the truck and tell them in advance it’s going to race or cutting horses. They will pass if they have beetles, liability
