I don’t know about the piece specifically, but from my experience anymore than 2 guns will be tight in that area. Looking at the map, it appears to have a large field and some cover, 30% or so.

We hunted a large ranch about 10 miles south of there for the past 7-8 years and just got off due to being listed for sale. I love the area, but it can be tough hunting at times.. taking to the locals, the deer population in general has steadily declined. That area use to be consider the dove capital as well, but I’ve never seen huntable populations that would get me excited enough to pay for dove.
Turkey are hit or miss as well but the hogs will be there.

5 guns on 500 acres is not even close to being an acceptable ratio.

That's $17.50 an acre which is very high for that area. More like $10 is the going rate. Now, I have been on a place before that had one gun per 200 acres and that worked out as we were all management minded and did not shoot everything that we saw.
But that would be the smallest amount of acres per man for me.

Stevarino has good analysis of the area.

I hunted the Hamilton area 20+ years. Owners will pack as many hunters as they can on a property, even cattle country with a few mesquites trees. If you don't lease it someone else will. I personally wont lease that area again. I used to see a ton of deer in that area. When I stopped hunting there 6 years ago, it was tough seeing deer not only on my lease but even on the roads. Personally I feel the owners joined the deer management areas so hunters could shoot more deer and they could say their land is managed. You will probably see fewer deer but could also see a giant if you see one at all. The last year I hunted 1,000 acres and saw 8 deer all year and that place was 99% cover.

Also another big issue is a lot of land being sold in that area. More people hunting the few deer that are left.

I owned property there for about 20 years, used to have a good deer population,no hogs, some turkey. The deer hunting started slowing down about 10 years ago or so. Some hogs moved in. It isnt nearly as good now as it used to be.
