I put the AGB on and it works great. Now I have another question. I see carbon residue leaking under the block towards the muzzle. Did I not install correctly? Is this somewhat normal?

Just kidding for the short bus people. Not sure as long as you have it lined up correctly. I'm sure a little blow by won't hurt any thing and might even slow down as it carbon ups after several shots. Are you shooting a suppressor ?

I used that "make a gasket" stuff in the toothpaste tube. Works great as sunscreen too and lasts longer. The barrel was dimpled so the set screw went in there to keep me from screwing it up (I hope). Yes, suppressed.

It is probably a bleed off style, that extra gas has to go somewhere, I know my SAA is a bleed off style and does the very same thing

Why can't it "bleed off" out the barrel like any other gun? Expanding gas is what pushes the bullet. Makes no sense to bleed off anywhere but muzzle and in the case of gas operated semis, some gas to the gas key.

Unless it’s some crazy large gap the carbon will build up and the leak will stop with more shooting

It's just how some are designed, I know I have an SLR to replace the SAA i have only because it is easier to adjust

They all leak a little. Suppressed will a little more. Nothing to worry about

Thank you for the insight friends. I will ignore it for now and re-evaluate after more rounds spent. Or, since it is functioning better, I may ignore regardless. I just wanted to make sure it was not a problem, thanks again.

SLR does not bleed off, it limits the amount of gas allowed to enter the tube. Was the block loose or snug on the barrel? Front set screw tight? Not abnormal to have some gas leaking out

It was not tight meaning it slipped easily on with no force, lube, or manipulation. I did not wiggle it to see if it had any play but if it was much, at all, I'd like to think I would have noticed. Do you think I should back off the set screws and see? Aside from replacing it, what else would you do to tighten/seal it up?

They don’t have to be tight but don’t want it really loose. I would check to make sure it’s not really loose, the hole in the block is aligned with the hole in the barrel and that both set screws in the block are tight and use loctite to make sure they don’t back out.
