Anyone have a good "how to" suggestions for moving a 12 foot 4x6 tower blind? I don't have a tractor so I am trying to figure out the safest way to lower it down onto a trailer so I can move it. I do have a four seat side by side adn a couple smaller atv's with winches.

We stood up a good sized stand with a winch on a SxS without any issues. Depending on how heavy your stand is, it may or may not work for you.

you will need two trucks. no way I would try it with an atv or UTV.


the trailer that its being loaded on breaks it over and the truck on the other side slowly lowers it down onto the trailer that has now backed up a bit.



FYI moving tower blinds is a pain in the rear

Don't stand under it.

Make sure the feet on the stand cant slip out from under it. Past that your gonna have to figure it out.

Ours our built on 10 foot towers, you drive up to it with tractor and pallet forks slip it under the blind base pick the whole shooting match up in one go and put it where you want. I wont build any taller towers because that is about the max height we can pick up.

As said above, sort of.
Will need at least one truck, not ATV. tie rope to stand from front of trailer, tie rope to stand to truck. stake down one set of legs so they can't start sliding. Have people or wrench on trailer start pulling the stand over. Have truck slowly lower it once it brakes over.
These guys arn't the best but they got the job done and no one got hurt. Watch it several times.

I would contact one of the companies that sell tower blinds that do installations. I would ask them how much they charge to move a blind.

Go to the Redneck Blinds video about how to stand a tall blind up. It’ll show you how to do what you want to, though in reverse.

I used two T Posts with a large board to keep the feet from slipping, worked like a charm. This was a 13' tower with a 6 1/2 ' tall blind. We used two trucks and a trailer also. This only works with steel towers. I tried the same thing with another blind but the legs buckled! Just a little but had to take it to a welder to repair.

We had one pf the local water well drillers come out with an A frame truck. He picked it up and drove to where we wanted to sit it. The guy operated that truck like a big rig crane, cost me $50, and I never broke sweat inside my pickup watching it happen.

With no tractor two trucks and a trailer will work just fine, I personally prefer two 4x4 trucks in 4 low, take it slow and stay out from under it. Make sure you have good straps/chokers/heavy ropes. The truck with the trailer pulls from the front of the trailer, the other truck is pulling back. The truck pulling may need to back up and re-rig while the other truck holds, depending on your situation. Make sure whoever is communicating between the two trucks is not drunk or a moron. It can be done easily and safely if you have your stuff together. Have moved many. Pay attention to the two legs on the ground when the blind is being lowered onto the trailer, sometimes they pop out and will get your attention when the load shifts. You can remedy that by driving in two T posts deep, and securing with double wrapped #9 wire loose enough so that the legs of the blind will move without getting in a bind. Can also secure lower legs of the blind to the trailer to keep it from slipping with straps or chain. One person needs to be the flag man and communicator between the different trucks, maybe 2, not 3 or 4 and everybody's drunk BIL and guests.

All of the above depends on how secure the blind is to the tower. It sounds like this is your first time to do this. You might want to have someone with experience either move it or at least help you.

We have done a few 16ft base towers. We chained the legs of the blind to the trailer so the legs do not slip out from under the blind causing it to drop suddenly. All of the guys that had a winch wanted to finally have a use for them, but we used an F350 to let the blind down onto the trailer, and to pull it back up.
Note, take everything out of the blind, windows chairs etc, before lowering, we also had to remove the window awnings on some so they were not crushed. And make sure the blind box is securely mounded to the base.

Be safe. Everyone wants to come watch, it is like herding cats trying to keep them away from the blind.

We always rent a sky-lift when we need to move one or take one down. Makes it super easy and way safer.

We have moved the 12 foot 4×6 Monarchs with just 3 guys. Just lower it on trailer. 2 guys push it and then thruck and rope finesse it down. Easy. Use a gin pole to set back up with just 2 guys.

As advised above make certain the 2 legs are in place by 2 T posts in ground you may want to wire in place. This will stop load shifting and or twisting. Vehicles at opposite sides one pulls very slowly and one gives slack. Getting down is easy but getting up requires lift up help.I show our lift up picture with tractor bucket with 4x4' extensions. Not sure how you get up without the lift assist as shown with tractor. 2 guys held back from flipping forward as it reached apex of pull. Be careful as we had some excitement until we went through a learning process. All this is academic when you have the right equipment to lift all the way up.

Btw, setting back up is easy. Google 'gin pole deer blind' and watch YouTube. $20 for a 4x8 at Home Depot, cut a notch and get a rope. No sweat even used. Could do it with one guy if very careful. Two guys easy.

It’s not that hard. I’ve done it a couple times. Tie a rope on the highest part you can and attach it to your truck. Then attach another on the opposite toward the trailer deck. Leave about 5’ slack on the truck side. Pull the blind over from the trailer side. Tie off the lead rope to front of trailer. Give the truck side more slack . Tighten the trailer side until the truck side pulls tight. Continue this until you can lower the blind onto the trailer.

Did the same Monarch blinds with a SxS and one pickup

Tilt one way using vehicle (or come-along winch)
Pull legs out on one side
Back truck under side without legs
Lower into back of truck
Pull out other legs

If you need a lot of extra weight to anchor the SxS, you can borrow my wife!
