It looks like some cross bred thing that is pregnant with another weird cross....you should lasso it and keep it.

Tough one only because the photo is of poor quality.

My first thought was Young Nilgai Cow.

But Young Kudu is also a possibility.

You just can't make out enough from the photo (angle and sharpness are both bad).

Kudu have huge ears (proportionate to their heads) and also have a prominent tuft of hair on their hump. They normally lack a 'throat patch' or if there is coloration..it is sparse.

Nilgai have smaller ears (but the young of many animals look different). They normally sport a noticeable throat patch, no tuft of hair on their hump and most have a black or brown ring around the leg just above the hooves.

Body shape is a toss-up since this appears to be an immature animal...so nothing really to go on the their.

A better clue might be had from WHERE this photo was taken and WHAT kind of exotics are known to be stocked on the ranch or surrounding properties.

I certainly can not positively I.D. it.

Correct. White stripe across bridge of the nose at the eye makes it a young kudu cow in my book. COOOOOL find on your lease. I'd leave it be.

I know that he brought a couple of male kudu in last year, one was taken as trophy. There should only be one male remaining.
This is on a two section HF ranch in Val Verde county.
What throws me is what appears to be a beard and no horns if its a kudu.

Can't be a kudu as it's lacking the thin stripes along its back. Looks more like a young nilgai.
