I need to replace my shed. I am looking at an 8'X12' kit at Lowe's. This particular kit doesn't come with floor joists or decking. I am looking at doing a slab instead. If my math is correct, for a 4" slab, I would need 56 bags of sacrete or 1.25 yards for roughly $250 plus the cost to rent a mixer (I might have a lead on borrowing one). Is there a company that would deliver that small of a load?? If so, would they be any cheaper?? It will have to be wheel barreled in, I don't think you can get a truck in there. twenty years ago, I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but I'm old and concrete is heavy.

Some of the concrete guys have a mini trailer they will fill for you to tow and pour, but you got only 45 minutes to get it poured.

Check with wburke2010 here...he has those little trailers that hold just about that amount of concrete. He's a great dude and will take good care of you.

Check your local Thrifty Nickel want Ad paper, most guys that advertise pouring patios will also do slabs for sheds.

No one in their right mind would want to mix that much bag concrete and you'll have a terrible product by the time everything starts to dry at different times.

Frame it with 2x6 with a bit of cushion sand or gravel underneath and set the forms just a little into the ground.

Call 3 yd Concrete and tell them what you are doing - they'll figure out how much you need and they'll be glad to help you. And their trucks are small so they can back up to a lot of places a traditional truck can't.

yeah, you don't want to do that by hand!!! I did a 10 x 20 using a borrowed mixer and had two workers from my BIL concrete business help me one Sat. but I miscalculated and had to make another run to Home Depot in the middle. It worked our tails off. If available, get the concrete delivered one way or another.

I appreciate the help. However, I realized yesterday when I was laying this out, part of it is on an easement. While the city says I can use that easement, I cannot place a permanent structure on it. Pouring a slab would be considered a permanent structure. So, a wood floor it is.
