Just wondering what type bird numbers are up in the area. I just acquired access to hunt a large ranch between Paducah and Crowell on the little Wichita river. What are the bird numbers in the area. Good numbers or low numbers. Anybody hearing much gobbling yet. The ranch is on the foard/king/Cottle/Knox county lines. Just trying to see if it’s worth making a 10 hr drive to hunt the ranch.
Thanks in advance

Good area for birds. Depending on the habitat, it could be excellent. Being on a river system in Texas is a real benefit.

Make the drive and let us know how you do!

I live about 8 miles north of Crowell. I have alot of turkeys on my place. What ranch is it? It should have some decent bird numbers on it but just depends on where its at. I haven't heard much gobbling yet.

Should be great. I've hunted near there a lot. Depending on how large a place it is, you should be able to find them over a 2-3 day hunt.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I use to lease a place that bordered the east side of the Y ranch. The river ran thru our place. There was always some birds around. If theres any wheat fields out there thats where Id start.
