My brother and I got a pretty good arsenal that I suspect would go to our kids... we don't sell any guns either only buy...

It's kinda odd for us, as a gun is a tool. My parents were/are anti-gun. Grandparents only slightly interested, one rifle, one 22, one shotgun. We are a poor folk. My wife/son inherited a few from her father that are keepers. People are surprised I don't personally own many guns, one of each function suits me fine. They are to me as hammers are to carpenters. We have them defined in a trust as part of our family will/trust/etc.

All I will say for free legal advice from a non-lawyer... spell it out now where you want them to go.

Most of mine will go to my 'adopted' grandkids. A few will be donated to the NRA and sold, the funds to be used to help support youth shooting sports here in West Texas.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

I set up a trust for my nfa items and I made sure family knows what firearms I do care about and I have told my family if anyone sells the guns I care about I am coming back and haunting them. Mostly guns that where my grandpas and uncles who have since passed or a few guns that I have built. I also have it written which guns including serial numbers go to who.

No wife, no kids. I've got some 'adopted' grandkids that will get most of them. The rest I'll donate to the NRA Foundation to help protect the 2nd Amendment as well as help some new shooters learn to shoot and about our 2nd Amendment rights.

Unless the nieces or their (eventual) children want any of them, as I become too incapacitated to use them they'll be sold.

Make sure that any firearms that are in questionable legal territory because of their configuration have a note attached to them so your family members don't get into trouble.

I told my wife to contact a good friend that I trust that buys and sells firearms and would not cheat her. He will either sell them or buy them as a package deal for a fair price. I have a fair amount of firearms, but nothing that valuable. (My wife is going to kill me all over again when she finds out what all I really have.)
