1. Is it worth it?

2. Is there a retailer local to Dallas that could show one?

3. I cant find online anywhere, but do they auto-nuc

4. Has anyone personally used one? VIdeos I see on the net are not that impressive in my opinion.

I currently have a zeus pro 640 60hz for what that is worth.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No experience with the Reap but I have the Mark 2. The picture is amazing. The Mark 2 does not auto-nuc.

Check with Ultimate Night Vision, they are in Carrolton.

Only you can make that decision, no one can make it for you. If you want the absolute best image quality of any thermal scope on the consumer market, you buy Trijicon. If you want features like a rechargeable battery, internal video recording, smart phone app and/or auto-nuc, you probably need to look at something like a Pulsar.

2. Is there a retailer local to Dallas that could show one?

Not sure about that.

3. I cant find online anywhere, but do they auto-nuc

No and it's my biggest complaint about the Trijicons.

4. Has anyone personally used one? VIdeos I see on the net are not that impressive in my opinion.

Yes and the videos look bad because there is no internal video recording. 99% of the the videos you are seeing were recorded with an external MDVR and the video output is downgraded by the scope before it goes out to the MDVR. It does not do justice to the scope. If you look at some of the videos that guys like James O'neill (O'Neill Ops on YouTube) puts out, you'll see some amazing footage because he's recording from behind the eyepiece. It's not practical for normal hunting but for showing what the image quality of the scope really is, it's the best option.

I currently have a zeus pro 640 60hz for what that is worth.

I have a REAP IR 35mm and love the image quality but I love the features of my Pulsar Trail XP50. If you want the best image quality that money can buy, you go with a Trijicon. If you want features and still have good image quality, you'll have to go another route.

Hey brother I've got a demo unit on hand. I've enjoyed slaying coyotes with it on my 7mm-08. It's a bad to the bone thermal and can get you out some serious distance. I can count cows at close to two miles. Holler at me sometime and I'll show it to you. It's basically a MK3-60 in a trimmed up package.

1. Is it worth it?

Oh yeah... its worth every cent

2. Is there a retailer local to Dallas that could show one?

several, go to defender outdoors in fort worth, they should have one, call first

(you can rent one for like 100 bucks at ultimate night vision .com and use it for a weekend if they still have the same deal they will even credit the money you spent to rent it towards the purchase price)

Disclaimer* do not do this unless you are ready to buy one because after you rent it- you'll buy it.

3. I cant find online anywhere, but do they auto-nuc

NO, get a flip cover and don't worry about it. Nuke is not a problem to do by hand and you don't have to nuke much anyways

4. Has anyone personally used one? VIdeos I see on the net are not that impressive in my opinion.

I have used or looked through most the thermal brands out there - trijicon is in another world of clarity compared to anything i have seen

I currently have a zeus pro 640 60hz for what that is worth.

i would guess 2500 - 3500 but i would have to look- depends how old it is.

Final word:

you might want to consider a reap-ir instead of the snipe - the snipe has a smaller degree of vision compared to the reap so it is a little zoomed in with less field of view. the snipe is better for like if you are the type of person that likes to use their own scopes and mount the reap infront of like an acog or something. this is cool if you have multiple thermals and you like to let your buddy use your snipe on his gun and you can quickly sight it in. but i have found that sighting in a snipe is "supposed" to be easy but it is really kind of a pain in the rear.

buy a reap, put it on a dedicated gun. use it a lot and enjoy it.

Something else to consider:
N-Vision HALO-LR. Trijicon image quality at 2 grand less. Same BAE core.
I have the HALO LR, it really is as good as advertised.

How are you liking your LR? You've got to be one the first end users to have it in hand. I've had a demo unit for a month along with a regular halo. I'm super impressed.
