I have a savage .308 scope/rifle combo I bought a while back and I am looking to upgrade the scope. The scope that is on it is a Bushnell Banner 3-9x. I am getting ready to go on an axis deer hunt and would like to have a better scope before I go. I like Vortex for the warranty, and the Diamondback fits my budget at $199. Anything else in that price range I should be looking at?

Just do a search, anywhere, on Vortex failures. That warranty will most certainly come in handy.

I'll let you know how mine holds up, as soon as I get a chance to use it. Mine is the Diamondback Tactical 4-12x40. I put it on my Savage barreled action, waiting on my stock to get back.

I have a diamondback 4-12, it's been great except the eye relief, and non adjustable parralax. I just got one of these for 235 ish , natchez has 10% off sales constantly if you wait a week or two. Burris MTAC 4.5-14, has adjustable parralax, looks clearer (to me) , also has a lifetime warranty. May be worth a look.
