Took my two youngest kiddos to the park yesterday near the San Jacinto West Fork. Didn't bring a lot of gear as I was just testing the shallow water bite. I've got my 14" jig box marked at various inches so I never bother with a tape measure, but wishing I'd had one yesterday. Still too early up here. Mom and Dad have a boatload in their lake. Bluebonnets are the barometer up here. When they're in bloom the fish are shallow. Nice catch.
