I looked though a few threads on here and did not see anything posted about this. Does anyone know when the Stevens 301 turkey in .410 will be available? I have seen a few other forums where it has been talked about but cannot seem to find any information on its availability.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried your local Academy store?

https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/stevens-m301-410-break-action-turkey-shotgun

Several online places have already sold out.

Thing weighs as much as a 20ga. Killing a turkey with TSS out of a .410 is about as hard as a 12ga and lead shot. Works better than the 12ga ead shells we used 20 years ago, really. Never smoked one like that back then.

Pretty darn close. The one thing the 12 gauge has is a lot more wiggle room.

Yea, I have seen it on several websites, like academy. When I call they have not received them. I have only tried a few, Tyler, Rockwall and Mesquite.
I may just stick to the original plan of a 20 gauge for my 10 year old but thought it an interesting little gun.

Unless your 10 year old is a bigger boy the 410 is gone be better. The loads I load for my 20 gauge kick just as bad as my 12 with 3.5in mag blends.

20ga, practice with 3/4oz Fiocchi. Only shoot turkey loads at turkey.

Somebody needs to sell 7/8 or 1oz #10s for 20. Recoil is pleasant and the patterns do well enough at 40.
