Finally got to test out my 450 bushmaster on a pig I was curious as to what it would do to a pig (hence the shoulder shot) and it didnít disappoint was surprised it wasnt a conplete pass through but nonetheless first pig Ive shot in over a year.
I use a .458 SOCOM and with most 300 gr. bullets (of expanding design) I don't often get pass-through's when I take shoulder shots on bigger hogs...so I am not surprised. When I move up to a 405 grain I usually do, but have recovered a number of them on the off side.
Stepping up to a 540 gr. hard cast, NEVER fails to pass through. I'm not even sure where they stop.
Nice Hog, congratulations.
