Hi Folks,

I’m interested in taking any species of Springbok or Gazelle (other than Grants as I already have one) - but I only need the species and am not looking for a trophy class animal. So if someone has a distressed animal or something with a broken or crooked horn and looking to make a deal, I’m interested and we can help each other out. I’m also looking to package this with a trophy class Blackbuck.

If anyone has something like this please contact me.

Thanks

This is my first post and I have not been here much because I advertise using other means. I have two Springbok that I would consider "cull" according to what you described. I can sell either at a very good price as a guided hunt.

The "cull" I have is on smaller brushy acreage and can be hunted with a bow. This week I took some folks on a much larger place and as you can see there is hardly a stitch of cover. It would be difficult to be successful with a bow on this property.

JR - you’ve been out hunting, so maybe you’re unaware that I’m one of your booked clients, already scheduled to hunt via crossbow next weekend. Been a traveling archery hunter for several decades and most often folks will find me searching / negotiating and going on hunts I have interest in. Certainly not a “tire-kicker,” and have been very successful over the years.

If a guide, outfitter, or ranch manager/owner doesn’t want to deal with the challenges of a Bowhunt (pre-hunt prep, multiple sits or stalks, ingenuity to set-up success, etc) that is their call. Trying to talk someone into something they’re against or otherwise unwilling to do never works out very well. Agree that it’s much easier to “just get it done” with a rifle. But if I’d backed away every time someone said “it will be difficult” I wouldn’t have those cherished memories of archery spot and stalk (Mule Deer, Moose, Caribou, Wild Fallow Deer, Bear, African Springbok & Bushbok, Cape Buffalo, all 4 Spanish Ibex, and many others); or finishing an archery Big 5. There were just a couple of spectacular failures along the way, but they made success all the more special because the outcome of every stalk or attempt was uncertain and we had to persevere; and we often overcame the odds through ingenuity, the animal making a mistake, or just plain dumb luck. The latest was a successful Free-Range Aoudad taken with a crossbow — it took some work, but it was a spectacular hunt that I’ll remember forever.

My 2 cents

Anyway, looking forward to hunting with Jas next weekend
