Think a lot of their 22 got "roll backed". The Winchester 555 packs dropped from up around $25 to about $19. Noticed the other bulks all had roll back signs on them as well. Good time to stock up.

Still to much, had nothing but problems with Remington rimfire. Did get 5 of the Federal bulk packs for $20ea. Seems to shoot great for $.

Pass the gravy.

Have shot several bricks of the Thunderbolts and Win. 555 packs with no problems in an old Ruger MKII.

Thunderbolts are good for malfunction training.
You never know when you will get a bad one but it is coming.

Absolutely right.

I had a rifle, that with that ammo would give you malfunction training 50% of the shots.

Don't understand why everyone doesn't like thunder bolts, cheap ammo and my ruger eats them up, loves them.

I have had duds with just about every brand. I cant say there has ever been a rash of duds like I am hearing about in this thread though.

I've had bad luck with the thunderbolt round too. Also American Eagle .22., I think federal makes Eagle.
Never had a dud with CCI rounds. In fact have about 400 rounds in an ammo can.... I know, not enough.. rifle

Sounds like the gun...

I've never had a CCI or Federal dud but I'm sure someone has.

Winchester and Thunderbolts are trash. I stand by it.

Pass the gravy.

I don’t see the duds but the accuracy in my 10/22’s is right out the door. The only bulk pack I will shoot is Automatch.

Nowadays I generally wait to find CCI Standard and Mini Mag on sale. For me, their reliability is unbeatable and I know where my POI is with my Marlin 60 and Ruger 10/22's because it is reasonably consistent. Federal Auto Match has also been a good performer.

None of us are precision shooters and my guns are all bone stock. I realize that my experience will not match others, but with a large family shooting five guns (pistol, revolvers and rifles) we can burn through a WHOLE LOT of .22LR on a family gathering weekend at the ranch.

While neither has been really terrible, Winchester white box and Remington Golden have clearly been the most problematic for us.

Marc

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.
