hope it goes well hof, BUT, when I blew out my meniscus my knee looked like a watermelon with toothpicks stickin out of it.
ended up with a titanium knee due to osteoarthritis and no meniscus left.

may want to rethink this and be support staff instead. knee repair sucks and the pt sucks worse.

HOF...I blew out my ACL and had major corrective surgery about 22 years ago. Then this past summer I had my right knee pop. I had severe pain and swelling....figured it would get better after a few days. After over two months I went to the Dr. Torn meniscus. Had surgery.

Doc told me both knees are in horrible shape....probably have to replace in ten years or less. Said my running days are over.....

I was hard on my knees in the Army...marches and runs....field exercises etc. Then I have been hard on both my knees and back working over the years....paying for it now...

A number of reasons for knee pain and swelling. In my case I had some swelling and pain. Went to Dr. and they x-rayed then drained a bit of fluid from the knee. Sent me home and told me to take 2 Glucosamine Chondroitin Complex tablets daily. One in the am and one in the pm, after a short time no pain. I now take one in the am only and so far no pain. It is good for the cartilage.

I’m wearing an expensive knee brace for 8 weeks after MRI showed torn meniscus, osteoarthritis, and cartilage wear. Doc says after wearing the brace, will follow up and talk about surgery. [Linked Image]

I feel your pain. I'm walking 2.5 miles a day. Running is out of the question for me. At 64 my knees swell some days from just walking.

Make certain you have good shoes...not new shoes, but shoes with between 75 and 125 miles on them. I would look at Brooks shoes. Keep that knee elevated, especially at night. I would get someone to massage your leg (toward the heart) and I'd probably listen to your doctor.
