Seems like the appropriate place to put Grocery stores weekly ad since most have to get on the road to get grub Tom Thumb St Louis style ribs $1.49 lb now that a deal pickle. Miller, Coors, Bud $19.99 a 24 pack bottles or cans. 3 Day only Saturday -Monday T-Bone $4.97 lb Kroger Brisket $1.99 lb & beer same price as Thumb.

Man this morning I scooped me some discounted pre-made jalapeno poppers, and some discounted ground pork. I am going to fuse them together and have a nice dinner tonight with that.
Also got some discounted HEB preseasoned pork fajitas and chicken fajitas for the freezer. You could say I had a nice morning shopping before the rest of the world descends upon the store.

I have found that the HEB Mi Comida Beef skirt steaks for fajitas are superior over the Hill Country Fair and regular HEB beef fajitas ... much more tender and more flavor ... Mi Comida Beef so you can see what the package looks like.

The only H-E-B on my stomping grounds is the new store in Huntsville. Now Huntsville is a college town full of millennials. The store is packed with them. I purposely wear my shoulder holster and pack the 380. The looks I get are priceless from the yutes. The Olds don’t even blink. I got to talking with one old guy there and he saw some of their looks. So I asked him what he saw. He said ‘an old guy ready to defend himself.’
So anyhow, yeah I like H-E-B.

My butcher told me spend the extra $1/lb and get the skirt steak.

Speaking of the good fajitas...
I grabbed a package of pork carnitas from H-E-B in Livingston. I rubbed them with a sweet rub and grilled then a little. They were very good. I will keep them in the freezer now. They’re really nice big chunks of pork.

Bill I saw that but had no clue if that was a good price or not To answer your question..... Yes, 2.99 is a great value for corned beef. I sold many a corned beef while I managed a meat market but never bought one till last year. I smoked one for pastrami and cooked the other as corned beef. I can`t believe I waited so long. They were both great, but I really like the corned beef. The sales cycle for most grocery chains is Wednesday.- Tuesday. We used to spend Tuesday trying not to over process meat that was going off sale and process the new meat sales items for the new add breaking Wednesday morning. Wednesday mornings were hectic. Started at 4-5 a.m. by repricing the old add items and pricing the new add items.

Thanks TPACK not sure what I would do with that much corned beef especially since the only way I usually have is Corned Beef Hash with breakfast.

I think I will just skip making pastrami next time and just do the corned beef .

it freezes pretty well. I bought a corned beef brisket almost every year around Saint Patrick's day when HEB puts them on sale. I toss in the smoker just like any other regular brisket, smoked. once done, I usually separate out into about 1-2 lb packages, vacuum seal and freeze for later. My wife is not a big fan of corned beef or pastrami, so I don't do them very often. I can pull out a package out of the freezer to thaw, slice some for sandwiches and then chop the rest to make corned beef (or pastrami) hash.
