I've been thinking about ordering some tchotchke stuff, like coozies, coffee mugs, pens, hats, pocket knives, shirts, bullet items, or various promotional items. This would be for some ammo orders and such. I'm looking for something unique and different. What tchotchke items have you found to be the most useful or unique items when you get a little free something with a purchase? I'd like something ammo related. Maybe like 50 cal bottle openers, maybe ammo pens, or something like that. Give me some ideas!!!

Good blue roller ball pens were a hit for us. People kept them and used them. And they last a long time.

I like stickers, bottle openers and ball point click pens when it comes to getting free stuff with orders.

I actually was given one those 50 cal bottle/wine openers once, I like the idea of it. I know I used it a few times while traveling, but haven't seen it in a few years.

Stuff you can keep and would actually use. Pens, hats, shirts, bottle opener.

Small, handy gun tool kit with your logo?

Thinking more outside the box, but in lines with some kind of ammo related thing...maybe ice cube trays or ice cube stones in the shape of a bullet?

A strong reefer magnet. Buy disc shaped rare earth magnets with a 1/4x20 threaded center hole. Use 30-06 brass for a handle. Epoxy a piece of 1/4x20 all thread in the cartridge mouth. Screw the handle in and you’ve got a good fridge magnet. Put your logo on it.

One vote for the hat and the coffee mug. I wouldn't go with a pocketknife, you'd have to put your name on a chintzy item to keep cost down. Ball caps and coffee mugs- you can never have too many and they are not expensive to have them made.

T-shirts, too. Gun people love gun shirts and will wear with pride. People can feel good by supporting a small business and showing support for the 2nd Amendment, and you can get free advertising, that is a win win win.

I like stickers and T-shirts. Once had a 9mm bullet in case with ball chain in primer hole hanging on my key chain. Lasted several years. Don't know how you'd put your name on it tho.

I’ve never turned down a koozie and can never have too many. The rest of the stuff you mentioned are all good ideas, too, I just don’t see them given out as tchotchkes.

Koozies with the magnets. They stick to anything metal with a full brewski.

A friend of mine id consider to be very successful has told me numerous times the importance of marketing your product.

Anyway, this is what I will say....

He always has the best t shirts, look good and feel good. Just good shirts that you’re likely to wear.

He is also big ito Facebook adverting, which I don’t know anything about.

It’s worked for him

I had to look up what tchotchke is. Term not used in these parts.
Keychain flashlight. My boss got them with shop name and address, I use it all the time.
Last deer season my expensive headlamp died and I used the keychain light to get to stand.

Hats are extremely popular. My company gives away several hundred per year, and we are a small outfit.

Hats work so well that many people buy them even though they offer free advertising for the name shown on the cap.

In our business, linemen went insane over collecting gimme caps. One electric co-op manager in Springer, NM had them tacked floor to ceiling, all four walls of his office...each wrapped in clear plastic. Bizarre.

Hats are great.

A kit for cutting, filling out, and attaching tags is also cool and relatively inexpensive.

I've been wanting a hat with your logo for a long time. I think it would look cool if it started offset on the front and went around the side of the hat a bit, or if you go trucker style hat (popular right now) put the logo in the middle of the front. Do the hat in a bright color to make it stand out, hot pink, bright orange and neon green seem to be popular these days, I have a few of each.

Stickers will go a long way as well. I'd put one on my beer fridge at home (where all my cool stickers are) and on an ammo box that is always with me when I'm shooting. I see a lot of hard gun cases with stickers, that's free advertising for you.

Think you may have to make them, but for my wedding, my dad made cuff links for me and all my grooms mens out of the ends of 45-70 shells.

I will say that whatever you choose, PLEASE select quality, even if it means giving fewer away. Nothing irritates me more than receiving my order and the thchotchke stuff is some of the worst Chinese garbage in the world. Pens that fall apart, caps that are about 85% of the size they need to be, small knives that are duller than a brick, etc. I'd rather you just charge me $2 less on my order and not waste either your time or mine.

My $.02.

My customers always liked polo shirts and caps more than anything else.
