Does anyone have a recommendation on a good BBQ place around Bonham (within 40 miles)? Something that does not require a bun or bread. Already looked at MUDDBONES- nothing really appealed to me. Was told to stay away from HICKORY BAR-B-QUE (not sure why, just told "DON'T"). Will be in the area this weekend.

Per the Texas Monthly BBQ app, there is a place called Perk's BBQ in Savoy that they gave a 3.5 rating.
Gotta get the Texas Monthy BBQ app.

Thanks for the heads up on the app.

Thanks for the heads up on the app. It has all the Top 50's an then I believe it's the honorable mentions.

Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

Didn’t get to try out any places. My hunt did not go well. Only got into one sounder all night. Got two piglets (<15# each) and one sow. Expected to hunt two nights but guide could not do a second night. Disappointed to say the least. Will keep these places in mind if I use another guide service in that area

Hate to hear that on the hunt. I do not know who told you Hickory was bad but I eat there regularly and it is pretty legit BBQ. Past 4 years it has been at least in my honest opinion. Hutchins is good stuff no doubt.
