This past season I look my first hunting trip to Newfoundland. I was primarily headed for woodland caribou but also got a moose and black bear tag just in case. It turned out to be the trip of a lifetime as I was able to harvest. Moose on day 2 and a black bear and world class woodland caribou on day 4. The caribou has been scored and is officially in the B&C books as number 33 all time and scored 340 6/8. Only true world class animal I have ever harvested, he will be displayed at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield leading up to the Bug Game Awards in August. Maybe I will see some of you guys there. Happy Hunting. [Linked Image]

I very nearly did this trip this past year as well. I ended up not going, and now I’m feeling super jealous. Great Caribou!

Got this certificate in the mail a few weeks after my hunt. I saw dozens of bears on the trip and Newfoundland allows two bears per tag but I was just too tired to go after that 2nd bear. Wonder if getting 2 bears plus moose and caribou would have made it the Newfoundland super Slam. [Linked Image]

September, flew into camp on the 16th. It was early for caribou though. They were definitely not herding up at that point.

I’m going up there in mid October.

According to outfitter, this is the best time for a trophy moose. Hope the bears are out and about them too.

Where I hunt in Colorado during thst time they are holed up in their dens
