I priced a new one from Jones Trailers at right at $5K and it wouldn't have all the extras that the one you are looking at has

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Not enough vents for Texas. Front vents are blocked by storage box. These trailers are difficult to back down a narrow muddy road.

Some of the openings have covers on them. This is the one my friend sold for $800. You could push it around like a wheelbarrow.

Dog trailers are a pain in the arse. If you don’t have to haul more than 6 dogs I wouldn’t buy.

You don't see many dog trailers anymore, because most people haul their dogs in their hunting rigs, or in the bed of the truck while towing the hunting rig, or both.

Back up a short tongue trailer is very frustrating and as already mentioned, you probably need more vents. I have hauled dogs ever way imaginable and I prefer a 2 axle dog trailer with my mule/polarias included.

Enlarge the picture and you will see 8 vents on each side. There is no room for anymore vents .

You could probably cut some vent holes in the bottom and top of storage area to let more heat out. I’ve seen that on a jones trailer before

Nice but I hate 2 wheel trailers

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

Is it insulated? Fan to draw out air? Insulated well is key.

You don't need a fan while you are on the road. Look closer and you will see tie outs by each door. You can tie them out and leave the doors open. It's been my experience tha the dogs will stay in the trailer with the doors open.

Pros:

You can haul 4 dogs and still have your truck bed
I'm assuming it's a good deal.
Looks to have adequate storage on top and front box depending on your needs.

Cons:

Single axle light trailer makes for a bumpy ride.
Can be difficult to back
No way to haul a UTV which is a must for me
I prefer louver doors and some type of large opening for ventilation.

I'm looking at a trailer built by Old South Dog Bixes that allows you to load up your UTV actually on top of the trailer. They look really nice and priced well.

You could double up and carry 8 dogs. Also add another gate inside the compartments to keep them separated

The fan actually does come in handy in warmer weather on long distance early season hauls. Well Insulated keeps em cooler as well. 6 or 8+ Dogs put off quite a bit of heat and the fan draws it off of em while driving. I typically don’t use my trailer as a kennel space w open doors and tie outs. Just as transportation. But to each his own.

Buddy has one in Kansas looks just like it but it is a 6-hole. Used to use it a lot.

Pros:
* nice to have when you need to take a bunch of dogs and don't have to lift them up into the truck
* plenty of water at hand
* guns and gear are stored out of weather and out of truck - lots of storage room

Cons:
* tires sit for long periods $
* have to tag it - $
* drain water or it can freeze and mess up the tank

All I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck with it.

The best thing about not dragging a trailer is you can drive 90 and not worry about it. It doesn’t take long to stake out a chain gang. You don’t have to worry about blowouts.

I went to Kansas with a buddy this year and he drug a trailer. I don’t know why. I thought he was picking up some pups because he only had 6 dogs when we left. He sold two when we got there. He drug that trailer and stuck His truck twice in the mid because a short trailer is so hard to back. Had to pull the trailer off both times and manhandle it out of the way. I took 6 dogs in a three hole box and never had a problem. I don’t see any need for one I’d stack 9 dogs in a three hole box before I’d drag a trailer. If I had more than that a trailer is the way to go.
