Wife and I went to the Coffee House Cafe and I was determined to try something different than my usual Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. Dang it nothing sounded as good so told the wife what I was ordering the CFS & eggs and she laughed. She said why don't you get the crab Cakes & eggs? the Hollandaise sauce sounded to rich this early. Now the shrimp & grits sounded good but it did not come with eggs so we fixed that.
Folks it was good up

The wife wanted Beignets and they were okay, not Cafe Du Monde good.

When the waiter set my shrimp & grits down he picked them right back up and said something about the shrimp being wrong, looked good to me ?

Brought another bowl back and said the tails should have not been on the first bowl he brought me, heck I would have eaten them.
So here is the new bowl and I ordered a couple of fried eggs that I chunked on top grin

That really looked good. Fancier than what I normally get at my favorite breakfast place, Waffle House. The wife loved McDonalds. We both like the Egg and I, but it was bought by another company and the name was changed. We went to the new name place, but it wasn’t as good as the Egg and I.

That breakfast place looks great. Might have to take the wife to the Coffee House Cafe next weekend for breakfast.

I work in the area and that is Dallas. I'm kicking myself for not trying this place as I've driven past it hundreds of times in the last 5 years. I will say the Kolache shop across the street has the best kolaches I've ever had and that includes any shop in West, TX.

My new favorite breakfast spot is Eggsquisite Café. They are in McKinney, Allen and Frisco and have the best bacon I've ever had at a restaurant.

Shrimp and grits ain’t for me. Why take two already perfect stand alone products and make a mess by mixing them? I’ll take my grits with a basted egg on top.

There is no kolaches made in West that even comes close to Wiekel's in La Grange, Brenham, and Carmine.

Man the last few times I’ve had them I’ve been pretty unimpressed.

Heres what I don't get....the western states have far better breakfast joints than we do around here. Lake Toho has the best I've ever had...some German place we ate at. Colorado has some dam good places...Seattle does also.

western liberal towns kicking our Tx a$$ on breakfast....SMH confused2

We have some pretty good breakfast places around here, but there are only a few. Way too many overrated breakfast places that have lines and are overpriced and over hyped.
