It seems like everywhere I go I can’t seem to find crushed red pepper that’s smaller than fish food flakes. I tend to like the finer stuff at the bottom of the shakers, the consistency of a course black pepper. Does anyone know a good brand to try over another for this?

You might try the recipes forum. Several of those guys don't post on OT. I prefer cayenne.

A grinder is my suggestion as well. Doesn’t have to be electric. I bet a pepper grinder would work fine. Or not. Heck I don’t know.

3rd on the grinder, just be careful and not breath in the dust. After grinding let it set for awhile to let the dust settle before opening.
