We are hosting a local NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge in June this year. One of the competitions is wildlife identification.

I have sheds from whitetails, axis and elk hides and a few other items. We are looking for all types of miscellaneous items these youth can identify for this portion of the competition.

I am hoping that some taxidermists out there may have some items in a closet that needs to be cleaned out. They may be junk to you but would likely work great for this. Any sheds/horns from various types of deer, maybe some bones, any hides and other type of stuff. The condition does not have to be good at all as these will be set up at various stations for these youth to try and identify.

If you are interested in helping, please let me know. I am happy to drive within 60 miles or so of Canton, Texas. Maybe further since turkey season is almost here and I will be driving all over the place with my boys chasing thunder chickens.

We would use them for other competitions in future years or I can even get them back to you if they are loaners.

Lastly, this is not the NRA asking. I'm just a regular dude who enjoys getting kids involved in the outdoors. I teach hunters education through TPWD and host a few youth camps in the summer too. I decided to put on this event this summer to add to the fun.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Take your kids hunting and you won't have to go hunting for your kids

My son “Bill Colector Taxidermy” said he would donate an old duck mount or 2. He is close to Greenville. Let me know if your interested and I will get you two together.

I am taxidermist in Bryan/College Station. I have every kind of skull you could want that I would happily donate. Also might have some furs laying around that could be used as well. I would be willing to ship them if need be as well. If you're interested send me an email: deadperfecttaxidermy@gmail.com

One thought is track identification. I know it's not as fun for kids as having a hide or skull that they can pick up and play with. But it's a cool skill for them.
