I'll go against the grain here and give ATN a little credit... I had an X-Sight 2 HD that I got in 2017. I traded it recently (switched to thermal)... but it worked great for me for 2 years. It has its quirks and I have certainly heard of a number of issues with ATN products... but if you get one that works... they are a pretty good value. Can't say much about their customer service since I haven't had to use it.
An upgraded IR combined with the X-Sight 2 HD can clearly show a feeder at 100 yards. I upgraded to the Streamlight TAC IR. I've seen some videos of ATN X-Sight 4k combined with Sniper Hog Lights 66LRX that light up feeders at 200 yards with a clear view. Pretty impressive for the price.
I was tempted to get an ATN thermal based on my experience with the X-Sight. Too many threads with negative feedback surrounding ATN - scared me away. I ended up paying more and getting an Armasight. Damn thing crapped out within 24 hours of having it. Now it's in route back to FLIR for warranty work. So much for spending more and hoping to get a reliable optic
Been debating on getting another X-Sight to hold me over while it's in for warranty work. I regretted trading mine.
