Mine was dead this morning. Nothing,no blinking light,no light on sensors or on the push button on the wall. Our power went off last night but no lightning or anything. I have power at the plug. I took the cover off to see if something was burned from a power surge but the circuit board looks fine. No bad wires to the eye. No repair guy till Monday. Anyone have any thoughts? My wife is getting testy having to raise it manually for me.
Thanks

This should be good. I would check my GFI’s to see if one is tripped.

Nothing tripped. Where it plugs in is fine. I hooked it up with an extension cord to double check it and nothing. The board may be cooked but don’t see any signs of it. The capacitor looks ok. I looked for in line fuses and I found something like a in line fuse on the incoming ground. I didn’t quite know what that was.

Could have a reset button some place around the motor. Look the brand up on the net to see.

I just installed a ew one last Saturday.

Mine was not recognizing our remotes in our vehicles.

Peace of mind and only took about 4 hours.

Mine has been acting weird in cold weather. Doesn't want to close. Have to sit there and keep hitting the button as it tries to go back up. move a few inches to a few feet then go back like something tripped the sensor. Let it warm up to 50 degrees or so and works like a champ.

Does it even if I release the door and close it. Going to have to call a repair guy. Not sure if its in the motor or the sensor.

Check to make sure your sensors are seeing each other.

Some will have a small glass fuse on the main board.

I saw a small fuse on the board and it looks good. Power is getting to the board. I checked that with a meter. There’s no power coming out because the lights aren’t showing on the door sensors or the wall button.

What kind of power is coming to the board? Sounds like your LV transformer is bad.

Yep, what I figured. The led’s on the sensors not being on is the clue. LV controls the HV to the motor. If you don’t see a LV transformer in there, I’d be surprised. It’ll look like a doorbell transformer. Find and meter it. It should have HV (110vac) to the primary side and LV (15vac or so). Also make sure the LV wires (little bell wire) aren’t loose or broken.

Got a new opener on Monday. Old one was fried. It was 10 years old. I like the belt drive models.

Had 3 belt drives installed after we bought this place. I love those openers.
