One of the best weekends of my life. My snaggletoothed Son made a perfect heart shot at 100 yrds on a fat doe. I’m not sure who was more excited. grin

I was backing up my Son, he had that rifle shouldered for close to 10 minutes before I felt comfortable with the shot. As soon as I said shoot, he did. I saw the impact and knew we were good. Deer ran 30 yrds & crashed. As soon as his deer went down, I spotted another mature doe and dropped her. My Son was like "Dad did you shoot my deer?" I said no Son, just get your skinning knife ready lol. Good times.

LOL...I was gonna make him drink some blood, or eat the heart. I explained our Indian heritage, but he was a firm no.

That is awesome Skinner. So happy little man was able to make it happen and you got to have that time with him. Little woman's time is coming.

Congratulations!!! Great to see the youngster holding a classic hunting rifle. Enjoy the years as they pass too quickly.

Yes Sir! I bought that rifle used with my Dad 23 yrs ago, and have killed an aweful lot of critters with it. My oldest Son, oldest Daughter, and now my youngest Son all killed their first deer with that old gun. My little girl is next, but she’s a little young yet lol.

Yes sir! Once that little girl hits the woods, you can stay at camp and be the cook, kids will get it done! grin
