so after the fall is over and dove, waterfowl, and deer season are done there is a lot of time to wait for it to come around again. what hobbies do y'all like to do? i personally like to get after the hogs and coyotes, do some crappie and bass fishing, and try to get a few bowfishing trips in.

I like to look for shed antlers, arrowheads, photography, trap hogs/coyotes/coons and fish.

Im currently on a coon trapping mission.

Other than that, what I enjoy doing is some light fishing and making as much money as I can to fund future hunting adventures

I used to enjoy the water a lot more but kids and their sports schedules eliminated most of that

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Cutting cedar, moving rocks, blind and feeder maintenance boolit casting, reloading BUT the most fun is disaster relief. I look for opportunities to hang drywall, tape/float, etc for those affected by natural events. I received help from folks from Illinois, Wisconsin, Wyoming after Harvey. We have opportunities in Sonora Texas if anyone is so moved to serve. PM me if interested. Fun time, meet people, and help others.

Kayaks offshore upper Texas coast. Target the big Bull Reds and large shark. I prefer the sharks. Black Tips are like the fighter jets of the gulf. Especially when they hit the afterburners eek2

I do a major project on the house every year.
I am about to wrap up the master bath remodel.
I am running out of upgrades to do, I may have to do an addition.

There's an off-season?
Reload, practice, reload.
Hunt for sheds (it's also good exercise)
Fish a little, just enough to put some in the freezer
Hunt axis
Get ready for turkey season

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

I'm a muzzleloader nut. I'll be hitting the club's rifle range with an assortment of flintlocks and caplocks and punching holes in paper at 100 yards.

And then, there's always the summer vegetable season.

Fishing, metal detecting and shooting....This is gonna be a very good year for metal detecting because of all the moisture in the ground.

Control burns this month. Spring turkeys. Bass fish. Work my bird dog. Shoot enough to keep my shotgun skills sharp. Load development and practice with centerfire rifles. Load enough ammo for the year. Monitor antler development in the summer to determine if there is a buck deer I want to hunt in the fall. Redfish and specs with the wife. Fit in enough yard work this year to keep my wife from chewing the leather about it.
