Wendy's only uses fresh meat.  quite possibly the worst burger going, and any body doubts this. stop by the ones in Temple. Whataburger has gone down hill so fast, most folks can't keep up hard to find a good burger any more

Sonic double meat jalapeńo cheeseburger. There’s your fast food burger.
Only place worse than Wendy’s is a burger at “Barely Clean” (Dairy Queen). Whataburger is Ok, but not great.

Fast food is like all other food: as good as the management.
I've had some Wendy's that was as good any other fast food.
There are 2 Sonics near me. 1 of them sucks every time, the other is good.
Fast/cheap food is what it is. Complaining is futile.

I used to love Wendys, but all the ones within a 10 minute drive of me here in Houston are terrrrrrrrrible. Tried one near my office in Richardson several months ago - same experience.
My top 5 fast food drive through burger chain restaurants in TX are -
1. Braums
2. Whataburger
3. In and Out
4. Dairy Queen
5. Mcdonalds

They had the best 99 cent menu around for a while. Frosty's are still decent, other than that can't think of much I have eaten from there.
