Looking to book a couple hunts next year. A wood duck has always been a bucket list bird for me. We do not have many at all in west Texas. Where in Texas is the best place to go for wood ducks and what outfitter would you guys recommend?

If you have a water craft and willing to do public lands, In the past I have had good luck on woodies on both Caddo WMA and the Dam B north of Beaumont.

Get a kayak and go to any public river/creek that has hunt-able land and you should be good. Stay east of DFW

East Texas along a river slough. I see them every day in Dallas feet away though.. we had them out west this year with so much water.

Yeah, drifting a ox bow type river with acorn bottom lands is a definite way.

Gus Engling along catfish Creek. Have killed quite a few there one that was banded there 7 years prior to me getting him. Guess I just "Named the Lake" but public is public and the creek runs through the whole WMA
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch
