Made it in late last Wednesday from my first trip to the Sonoran desert. Hunted for 6 days and saw some good bucks. It seemed like a slow week and after making it to the Hermosillo airport and talking to several hunters it was like that across the board. Full moon, warm weather (even for Mexico), and wind kept them bedded up during the day and chasing at night. None the less, an awesome trip and will definitely do it again. Like next year again!
Shot my buck at 223 yds as he was working his way across a ridge with 4 does. I let the 300 RUM bark and that was it. I could tell he had a unique rack but upon walking up to him I realized he had a typical whitetail rack. Cool buck to me and very excited to have been able to take him.
Enjoy some pics of the pretties sunsets I've ever seen.
