I thought it was interesting a couple days ago, when I had a boar...about 150 lbs in the back of my truck. Normally I just haul ones like this to what I call my "bone pile", and dump them off for the coyotes, buzzards, etc... to enjoy. A group of folks that own a doughnut shop wanted a hog, so I offered this one to them and they wanted it. Unfortunately their truck was at home, so we ended up putting this stinky old guy into the trunk of their Toyota ! The lady said she would haul it home to her husband to process for them. I can't imagine a whole uncleaned hog in the back of a small car, smelling it up...
I once had a group from one family that wanted some like this before, and I loaded about half a dozen of them into the back of a Ford Bronco. They had to haul them about 40 miles to their house, and I guess they did it with their windows all rolled down. Some folks just don't seem to care if they end up with a stinky bunch in their vehicle.

Talked to the fella that ended up processing this hog today. They are a family of Cambodians and they certainly know how to handle something like a hog. He gave us some meat he had cooked for us to taste, and it was really tasty. I never would have thought anyone could make anything taste that good from a boar the size that they started with. The only problem with the meat that I tasted, was the spice added to it.....it was so spicy, the burning stopped somewhere around my pancreas I think. Boy did it burn, but the taste was sure good and it was probably worth the pain involved. He asked for a couple more, so I guess I'll provide him with some.
He told me he removes the hair with a torch and they use the skin as well as the meat after processing.

Those folks use everything but the "oink" on the hog, and they could teach us a whole lot about making the best use of the feral hogs we harvest. My problem is that my freezer is full, H for H doesn't want any more, and I don't have any Asian neighbors to donate the meat to.

I have never had a hog taste bad, and we have killed boars up to about 300lbs. 70% of what we eat is wild hog. If the meat tastes bad it was probably not taken care of properly.

I give everyone of the nasty things away. My last one I loaded into a Toyota minivan , it was awesome

A cap full of white vinegar in your water while you are prepping it to cook will all but eliminate the worst smell and taste

Just the wife and I here, and we've got two stuffed freezers here between hog, deer, and whatever. I'll continue giving away hog meat as much as possible. I'll have to try the vinegar suggestion some time as it seems interesting. I never save anything for us, but younger hogs anyway, and don't have any problems with strong tastes though. I'm expecting a bunch this morning in one trap, so it should be a busy morning.

That's pretty humorous and interesting at the same time.
I enjoy stories that have consequences, usable information and victory in then end.

My problem is most of my pig hunting takes place at night.
While I have a list of folks who say they will come get one right away when you have one, they tend to balk when called at 1am!

I have used heavy black plastic sheeting for cars/trunks but have found that the heavy trash can liners that fit 55 gallon drums work pretty well for under 100 pounders.
