Anybody have a ballpark per ton or per yard cost for road base around the Seguin area? I've got someone that can deliver it....but don't know what it's running these days. I'll need about 20 ton.

Thanks,
John

It's been 45 minutes. You need a little reciprocity for the great threads you start on THF. Do like I do. Take down the names of all of those who did not reply and don't reply to their threads. Cross my name off the list.

$13-15 a ton is a figure I heard from a contact down that way. He may be a little off but that should be close since you do not need delivery.

That sounds pretty good.

I've got a gully washed into my driveway. The driveway is about a 1/4 mile long but the last part is all down hill and once the water decides that's the easiest path...it gets washed out pretty quick. Need to give the water another way to travel and fill in the current gully.

Put a culvert where it has naturally washed out. What type of base is your current road?

I paid about $265 per 24 ton or so in belly dump semi-loads for road base delivered 20 miles about 3 yrs ago now. It took me 16 or 17 loads to build just over a 1/4 mile drive way. IIRC one truck load went about 80-90' for 6"-8" thick in center and 15' width road.

Not to interject, but that is more like a 4 inch road.

That was 6-8" in center and then less on the outside edges. It was a little narrower in some place and little wider in others. I only wanted 12' wide but the maintainer operator went a bit wider.

That's some good info! Thanks. I'll probably only need about 1 semi load for the area that is washed out.

The problem was that the road was sunken down enough to form a "lip" on the downhill side. Once built back up...the water SHOULD flow over it and on down the hill in stead of hitting the lip and diverting down the driveway. I plan to put some kind of drainage in a couple of low spots that always have standing water.
