It's ruggedized, waterproof, and has an infrared camera. I'm thinking the camera might be useful to locate downed game in the bushes.

A friend has one. Its fun to play with. He bought it for the toughness of the phone. The infrared camera does not see very far. Did a side by side with a Flir TK scout.The scout was way better

Plus look at the number of bad reviews. This is not a great phone.

And no, the thermal isn't going to be something very impressive.

You need the phone 365 days a year, how many of those days are you looking for dead game in the bushes? You can put a Otterbox case on most, most are waterproof now, so all you're getting is a substandard thermal imager with that device. Get one of the iPhone/Android plug-in imagers instead.
