I like that too but a pheasant would really take away from the coyote. I thought about a big red squirrel in his mouth but it would cost alot more. Thinking bout this...

Thinking bout this... That's probably the best job on a Yote mount I have ever seen. If you can find someone to make it look as lifelike as that one I would consider the cost secondary to the quality of work that you would get in return. Yotes are hard to do but not quite as hard as a Bobcat. You just don't see as many Yote mounts to compare them all to. I would really do my homework on who you chose as a taxidermist. You don't get the chance to kill a black yote every day. If I had someone to recommend I would but the truth is I have never seen my Taxis yote work.

Ya i took it to Palermo in Bryan. Very high end but I didnt want to risk it not being perfect. He charges $1300 but his work on predators is awesome.

IMO this second yote mount is better for your yote than the first. As awesome as the black coat is, the white throat patch is what you should figure out how to showcase as that whats gonna give it the pop versus the black coat. If you can find a a howling at the moon mount that faces forward i would think that would really accentuate all the best qualities of the awesome song dog you shot!

Beautiful coyote! Trapped one here once but it was summer time and the pelt was ruined. I'm jealous of the opportunity to mount one! Post finished pics when him back.
