Not much, all in all. Under $500 total. Mainly for gas and lunch a few times.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.

I hunt 3 places all family places

$0-lease fees
$275-new tripod stand
$1000 Rifle and scope
$250 just a scope for another rifle
$500 corn (3 feeders) I start feeding in Aug
$400 for a Euro Mount and 2 deer to be processed
$300 fuel maybe, 2 of the 3 places are real close to me

That about covers it I think. Wasn’t too bad I guess

There’s a good chance I buy one more rifle for 2019 and for sure I’m getting a compound bow. I think my expenses should be around the same

Do you want the real numbers or the ones I supplied to my wife when she asked such a question?

My wife loves the shop, I think they all do

As long as she keeps it in check, I don’t say anything

And it works that way for my hunting, if I don’t go overboard she won’t mention a word about it

5 bags of corn at around $6.50 each = $32.50 and got one Axis Buck so it worked out pretty good.

This year way too much! Between the lease and a guided hunt and all the other stuff its sickening. But I had a blast and will put 3 animals on the wall.

What does it matter?

Lease dues, fuel, food, alcohol, corn....$4000 ish
Any stand/feeder expenses are extra.

This coming year will be higher. I’ve already booked a trophy axis hunt and am really really looking at a Honda Pioneer. That’s $2750 and $12,500 plus tax. Ugh

I’d guess around $2000, 8 bags of corn, 25lbs of millet seed, deer lease, lots of shotgun ammo($200), new shotgun($500) new rifle and scope($550). Fuel, alcohol and food probably another $500.

Nope, if I thought of it as an "expense," I couldn't see the logical reason to continue hunting, especially considering the lease costs. I work at a desk 8-12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week, all year long. Getting outside is my therapy and there's something to be said about getting away from it all. My wife handles the finances and hasn't complained, so I'm ok. But realistically, around 4k this year because I paid for two spots after I had to let someone go.

If it sounds like I spent next to nothing, that's not actually fair. The bulk of my hunting is out of state. If you count out of state hunts, I've spent much more on licenses and fuel (Tennessee, Ohio). I've also got more invested in muzzleloaders than they average guy since three of us use smokeless muzzleloaders for much of the season. I only actually hunt one leased place. The place in Ohio I hunt tripled in price when they started charging per acre to lease, it was a tough pill to swallow but the lower cost of licenses made it easier to do it. I've purchased five new ladder stands since I have a large family (three were 2-man stands) but I only have $250 total in them as I will only buy them deeply discounted. I didn't count these because we're strictly portable stands (climbing and lock-on) in Texas.

More than $2,500 and under $3,000. That includes lease fee, corn, shoulder mount, processing, gas. Food? I spend way more staying home.

I spend quite a bit, but lease two sections on our lease so my family can hunt. My kids can't afford to pay, but I'm in a position to do so and am glad I can. Is it expensive? It's really expensive, but the memories I've made are priceless. My goal is to leave a legacy of hunting, fishing and outdoors to my kids and grandkids.

I spend about $500.00 per month on hunting related expenses (lease, feed, fuel and other misc. costs). I don't count food because I have to eat at home or the lease. I don't have any other hobbies and I drive an older truck with no payments to help afford hunting.

When I look at what my friends spend who own places, I enjoy leasing. I would never get to their places when they invite me as I would be busy. I would be at my place doing the same work. I have thought of that for years too... I am not buying 60 acres to hunt. My lease provides us with everything and more.

Everything I had was worn old or out dated, and I hadn’t hunted in a few years.

I don’t want to know how much I spent, but was a lot. I bought 4-5 new feeders, 5 new trail cams, 3 of which are Cell. Spent thousands on new motor and transmission for my hunting truck.

25 new bushings on my 4wheeler, if I recall the number correctly. I didn’t know a Polaris had so many plastic bushings.

Built two new blinds both with deer view windows and new three tripods.

2300 for lease.

I have no idea how much I spent on corn, which pigs ate most of it.

And didn’t fire a shot lol, but I had fun!

My guess 12 grand, hell, I could have went back to Africa again and hunted plains game again for that price, and got to shoot my gun!!!!

Thanks, Billy

Enough to know that I stopped worrying about what I spend to do something I love a long time ago. Probably between gas, feed and hunting supplies, $1,000-$2,000 and I own my small piece of dirt...

Not gonna add it up.

I looked at my year end credit card bill last month that had my annual total charges on it eeks333 all paid monthly, but the total shocked me, it inspired a chat with the better half.
