I ran across a recipe a few days ago using sesame seeds seared on fresh tuna steak. That sounded good to me and the boss, (wife.)
But about a month ago I had read that Za'Atar or Zatar seasoning was really good on fish as well. Za'Atar originated in the Middle East and often uses ground sumac and crushed sesame in its preparation. Ground sumac has a lemony flavor.
I was torn between which way to prepare the tuna steaks, so I made one steak each way.
Both seasoning methods were very tasty.
I prepared a minced fresh ginger, soy, lime juice, crushed red pepper honey sauce to serve with the tuna and the steamed broccoli accompanying the meal.
The meal earned me some points with the wife.
