Today I had a jury duty summons at 12:30 pm. I arrived at the courthouse about 30 minutes early. When I checked in, I was told that the case(s) had been settled and that my services would not be needed. Lucky me! So I decided to surprise the wife by helping with the cooking chores. I stopped at the grocery store and purchased the supplies for a gumbo. I went to the store a couple of hours and picked up stuff for a big pot of chicken, sausage, and shrimp gumbo. Gonna be ready for the cold snap coming down tonite. Will start on it in the morning.
