On a small property, less than 100 acres is it better to have one large feeder location, penned say 15+ panels with a protein feeder and corn feeder in the middle of the property and possibly 2-3 tripod and enclosed blind positions based on wind direction or 2-3 different feeder locations, maybe smaller ones, 10+ panels?

What is the cover like on the place, and next door? Is the 100 surrounded by places that hunt? If you're trying to draw from next door, I would lean towards multiple feeders. If you're trying to keep them at home, I like the central feeder idea better.

Medium type brush and cover on exterior, more light to medium in the middle of property, medium to light brush cover in surrounding, larger properties. Goal is to always attract in but would like to hold more and keep them comfortable to come in....

Is the deer population heavy? If you have lots of mouths, they'd get more chances at multiple feeders

Couple of doe, 1-3 bucks nightly at each feeder currently. With one location, could feed longer durations.

It depends on the property, but I'd say you are better off with more than 1. I enjoy having options for where to hunt - especially if the wind changes directions - or if I pop a hog at one (mucks up hunting for at least one session).

I have 170 acres and running 4 feeders. Game cams show bucks on the NE feeder that haven't appeared on game cams on any other feeder. I fenced two feeders (near the "deer sanctuary" area) in the north and left the central and southern feeder unfenced for hog hunting. There is one really nice buck that only shows up to the central feeder (per game cam and sightings)... but hasn't been spotted on other feeders.

I do see some of the same bucks at multiple feeders. Generally younger ones. I expected to see the same deer at all the feeders, but the more mature ones tend to stay closer to the wooded area. My southern feeder is more out in the open and near my travel trailer - that one only gets hit by hogs and young deer. Food plots are planted next to each feeder. Sucks in the deer from neighboring properties. Highly suggest planting food plots. The deer on my place tend to nibble on the corn and then spend the majority of time in the food plot (oats).

One blind with multiple feed pens(2 or 3) in different directions to allow you to always have 2 feed pens at least out of your wind. I have had issues in the past with bucks using the blind I was not hunting when I had 4 feed pens and blinds on my place. I am now down to 2 blinds, one with 2 feed pens(spin and free choice protein) and one with one pen(spin and protein). I am either going to go to one blind with 3 feed pens or keep the two blinds but add a second feed pen setup at the other blind.

I would also consider a food plot. Is there any tilled land there now?

Think I'm leaning towards the two pens, one from North, the other from South, the prevailing winds and able to be hunted from single enclosed blinds or two tripods separately.

How many people are hunting it now? If it is just you, I would go with one blind two feeder pens for two reasons.
1. you will at least have one with favorable wind condition. 2.You will be able to attract more does in critical rut time for they have another feeder to go to if pushed out of the other one.

Bottom line with one blind and two feeders you will see everything that is coming to both without having to guess which blind to be in up

One blind with a feeder north of it and one south it.
Make the pens at least 10 panels and round.

I agree 100%. IMO, one of the traps many hunters fall into is to view feeders like fish hooks. Just put up more feeders and you'll have more deer, right? My experience has been that "less is more" applies to deer hunting as well, including feeders. Limit all forms of visibility of human presence and you'll be far more likely to get a shot at a nice deer. After all, they don't get old being stupid around hunters who are always after them in every way possible. Mature bucks become more reclusive as they get older and want to live out their final years in the safest place they can find. And this includes places with the least evidence of human presence.

I'd go with two. Add a watering station if you can. But I'm a bowhunter and wind is a big factor for me. Also I just like a new look. You're going to see the same deer most likely. I just think two wood draw more.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.
